Hi, I’m Ruth…

I qualified as a nutritional therapist in 2009, graduating from the world-renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition.

Since qualifying I have worked with a wide range of people, with a variety of issues. I work part time in a corporate role as part of a large Online Doctor provider. In my private clinic I  specialise in supporting people with digestive health issues and weight management. I also act as a mentor to other Nutritional Therapists.

Prior to training as a Nutritional Therapist I worked as a nursing sister in the NHS for a number of years. I have to admit that back then I really knew very little about the amazing benefits of eating ‘the right food’, or that changing how and what you eat could have such a profound impact on your health, I’s so fortunate that I retrained as a Nutritional Therapist and an now make a difference to other peoples lives.

Ruth Taylor Nutrition

I first became interested in nutrition when I was having some health issues and sought nutritional support with a very positive outcome. Following this, I embarked on a nutritional therapy diploma at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, at this time this was purely for personal health improvements, but my passion for the amazing benefits of diet and nutrition was lit. I now focus my working life as a Nutritional Therapist helping people achieve their best health, whatever this means to that person.

My lifetime of working in healthcare helps me to provide you with a thorough and integrated approach to supporting you to achieve your health goals.

Nutrition Consultation with Ruth Taylor

My approach to working with you

I work using a functional medicine approach; this allows me to gain an in-depth understanding of your health issue and what the underlying cause of these may be.

Using an evidence-based approach to nutritional medicine and the most up to date diagnostic tests (when indicated) I work with my clients to make small, simple and negotiated dietary and lifestyle changes that are aimed at supporting your health and to ensure you get the results you are looking for.

This can be through one to one consultation at my clinic or via Zoom. Since qualifying in 2009 I have worked with hundreds of clients, with issues such as IBS, digestive
discomfort, low energy, insulin resistance and hormonal imbalances helping them to manage their conditions and boost their health often overcoming debilitating symptoms.

Ruth Taylor Nutrition Toolkit

I believe that the toolbox that I use in a nutritional consultation is a very different toolbox to that used within the health service – this is why I can often uncover underlying issues that had not been identified within the health service.
